Coming from a career as a special educator in the Baltimore City Public School System and wanting to pursue my dreams of a more exciting yet just as fulfilling career, I studied to become an image/wardrobe consultant. Almost a year later, in August, 2007, I began my first job as a personal stylist for 2 independent recording artists my daughter, Mika Thaniel, managed. Loving music, fashion, and people, this opportunity became a turning point for me in my life! I then decided to start my own image consultating business. In January, 2008, Sonika Imaging was offically launched! With very little money, but a lot of determination, research, trial and error, and hard work, Sonika Imaging began to grow! After almost a year, as a result of working with independent recording artists and other entertainment professionals, the need for other artist-related services such as music copyrighting and assistance with joining ASCAP and BMI, were brought to my attention. To address these kinds of needs, "Sonika Imaging Artist Services" was created as a division of Sonika Imaging! Sonika Imaging celebrated the beginning of our 3rd year in January, 2010 and recently added "Sonika Imaging Promotions" to our list of available services. Sonika Imaging also hosts 2 online tee shirt boutiques: "Tees and More!" and "Mika's Visions", a YouTube channel called "curli2007" and is involved in affilliate marketing! We host several online stores such as "Cricket Communications", "Fergie Shoes", "Sunglass Hut", "DrJays", and "Karmaloop" on our websites for direct online shopping! Besides managing Sonika Imaging and working with my clients, I am also the Director of Promotions/Image for Pur Entertainment and the Publicist for Wisdom Court Entertainment. So as you can see, Sonika Imaging is on the move! We have made it our mission to provide our clients with great services, normally not available to them, at prices everyone can afford, so that they can take their careers to the next step! It is our hope that our story will inspire others to take a chance at fulfilling their dreams and make them happen!
